Jimmy returned to Chelsea as a scout after WWII and was responsible for discovering Terry Venables, Jimmy Greaves, Les allen & Peter Brabrook amongst many others.

He was living in Rottingdean at the time of his death (27 August 1984 At Epsom Races) and is buried at St Margarets Church in the East Sussex village.
