In the Chelsea programme profile of November 1905 Mackie is listed as being born in Dalry. There is no record of a Robert Mackie being born in Bannockburn anywhere close to 1882. He did not die in 1943 as in a Chelsea programme of the 1954-55 season he is referred to as still being alive. The 1961 death record matches parents with the birth and marriage records.
